Privacy Policy

Learn how VidGetter collects, uses, stores, shares, and protects personal information.

VidGetter values your privacy. This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, store, share, and protect information when you use our desktop client, website, admin tools, APIs, and related services, and the rights you may have.

1. Information We Collect

Depending on the features you use, we may collect:

1.1 Account and Identity Information

  • Email address, verification codes, and verification status;
  • Information necessary for password validation and account security;
  • Subscription, licensed-device, and account preference information.

1.2 Device and Client Information

  • Device identifiers and session information;
  • Client version, operating system, and basic runtime information;
  • Login times, request times, request identifiers, error logs, and security logs.

1.3 Usage and Configuration Data

  • Download preferences, destination folders, task status, tags, and notes;
  • Page addresses, resource types, and technical information needed to detect media;
  • Data you enter, upload, edit, import, or synchronize. Downloaded media is stored in the local folder you choose by default.

1.4 Transaction and Support Information

  • Subscription plan, order number, transaction status, currency, amount, and billing contact details;
  • Support tickets, feedback, inquiries, and troubleshooting information.

Complete payment card details are processed directly by payment providers such as Paddle. VidGetter does not store full card numbers or security codes.

2. How We Use Information

We use information to provide account and device session management; deliver media detection, video downloads, task queues, and local media-library features; process subscriptions and support; detect suspicious access and security risks; troubleshoot and improve our products; and satisfy legal, audit, tax, dispute-resolution, and compliance obligations.

3. Sources and Local Data

Information may come from data you provide and task logs, device information, and media technical data generated while you use the service.

Downloaded files, browsing history, media-library indexes, and most client preferences are stored and processed only on your device by default. Data reaches VidGetter servers only when you choose to synchronize, submit diagnostics, call a remote service, or use a feature that requires server-side processing.

4. Sharing, Transfer, and Disclosure

We do not sell personal information. We may share information when reasonably necessary with:

  • Cloud infrastructure, storage, email, logging, security, analytics, and operational service providers;
  • Payment providers such as Paddle that process payments, taxes, billing, subscription management, fraud prevention, and refunds;
  • People whom you expressly authorize to access relevant information;
  • Courts, regulators, or government authorities where disclosure is lawfully required;
  • Recipients involved in a merger, acquisition, restructuring, or asset transfer, subject to appropriate data protection obligations.

5. International Processing, Storage, and Retention

To provide a global service, information may be processed outside your country or region. We use reasonable safeguards required by applicable law.

We retain information only as long as necessary for the purposes described here, unless legal, audit, billing, dispute, or security obligations require longer retention. When information is no longer needed, we delete, anonymize, or otherwise dispose of it in accordance with applicable law.

6. Security

VidGetter uses reasonable technical and organizational safeguards, including access controls, permission isolation, transmission protection, logging, credential safeguards, and security monitoring. No networked environment is completely secure, so you should also use strong passwords, avoid sharing sensitive credentials, and manage team and device access carefully.

If a personal information incident occurs, we will take appropriate remedial action and provide notice where required by law.

7. Your Rights

Subject to applicable law, you may have rights to access, correct, supplement, or delete personal information; request account deletion; withdraw consent; object to or restrict certain processing; and request explanations or support regarding your account and service use.

Some requests may be limited by legal duties, security requirements, audit retention, technical constraints, or the rights of others. We will respond within a reasonable scope.

8. Cookies and Analytics

Our website may use necessary local storage, cookies, or similar technologies to remember theme preferences, maintain security, and understand page usage. You can control these technologies through browser settings, though disabling necessary features may affect the site experience.

9. Children's Privacy

VidGetter is primarily intended for adults and legally established organizations. Minors should use the service only with the involvement and consent of a parent or legal guardian where required.

10. Policy Updates

We may update this Policy to reflect legal, product, or operational changes. Updated versions will be published through the website, client, admin portal, email, or another reasonable channel and will take effect on the published or stated date.

11. Contact

Questions about this Policy, our information practices, or your rights may be submitted through the VidGetter website, in-product feedback, or official support channels.
